March 15 - LENTEN CARBON FAST 2010
In 1987, Pope John Paul II said, "The dominion granted to [humans] by the Creator is not an absolute power, nor can one speak of a freedom to 'use and misuse,' or to dispose of things as one pleases."  The Resurrection Green Team invites you to look around curbsides and melted-snowdrift areas in Dubuque: cigarette butts, cans, discarded plastic bottles, plastic
bags, just lots of yucky litter!  On your next walk, take a plastic bag, lean down (good for the waistline) and pick up at least 5 pieces of litter. Do this everyday for a week and your neighborhood will begin to look cleaner and greener. Bright idea: be sure to recycle some items when you get home, e.g., cans and plastic bags. And never "dispose of things" as litter.

March 28 - LENTEN CARBON FAST 2010
On this Palm Sunday, take some time to reflect on the green activities that you have practiced this Lent and how they've brought you into greater harmony with the Earth and all life. Pope Benedict has said, "Our environment is God's gift to everyone, and in our use of it we have a responsibility towards the poor, towards future generations and towards humanity as a whole."
